I literally got 3-3.5hrs of sleep last night because my neighbors are rude, drunk ghetto, pieces of crap and my landlord can't do anything about them unless the girl gets charged with something because her going-to-jail-for-domestic-abuse boyfriend isn't on the lease. Landlord says, "Just keep calling the cops, if they threaten you it's assault."
I honestly don't even let my son outside because of them anymore, they're outside all day and night in our community front porch and they leave broken glass beer bottles all over the sidewalks and parking lot. ALL of the neighbors have called in complaints to the LL and the cops, but there's nothing that they can do apparently.
And on top of that, I think I'm getting a cold.
I hate the summer. Welcome to AZ where you get a cold because it's hot.
I need to go to the grocery store today.....But like I said, I don't even want to go outside because the neighbors are so bad, and I called the cops and I'm sure they'll blame me like they blamed me when CPS came one time when the cops themselves called CPS on them. -sigh-

Ahhh - that is such a sad and uncomfortable situation. Drinks have to fall asleep sometime though, right? Good luck, sorry you are dealing with them.

funny thing, I used to have neighbors like that before I moved. I"m not kidding, I don't think they ever slept! They did drugs too. Maybe that's what kept them awake. I heard from a person who lived in a city say "bad neighbors don't stay long." Hang in there Queenrilly1

It took me two years to move out of a place like that after my divorce. It stinks royally and can wear you down. All I can offer for advice is earplugs.

Thanks everyone! Yeah I'm waiting for their lease to be up in November, I don't think after everything and all of the people in our building complaining (I was the last because I was trying to be friends with the girl for most of the beginning of this year until about a month and a half ago - too much drama, 24/7 verbal abuse for her bf who's supposed to be in jail for the domestic call she made in early march) Landlord can't do anything unless she's charged with something. the BF doesn't matter because he's not on the lease. go figure!
we can't move until.. the earliest would be March next year. I told the hubs not to renew the lease o.O
I think it wouldn't bother me as much but I can't even let my kids go outside to play, that's the thing that really majorly pisses me off. We had a really good community before these people moved in and now it's like impossible to get rid of them.

Hang in there hon! We are in a similar situation, with drug dealing ( and abusing ) neighbors who are outside booZing and drugging all hours of the day and night. I won't let my girls outside anymore, so I seem to spend a lot more time at the library with them, or parks, the Y, etc.. anywhere but at home, and it STINKS. Our lease is up in November and we are getting out of dodge, since it seems they renewed their lease this month and won't be gone as the landlord was assuring us they would be. It wouldn't be as bad if our townhomes didn't share a wall, so I didn't have to hear the screaming, bangs, etc and smell the pot smoke all the time. Ick.

So everyone in your complex could write a letter to the landlord requesting that they not renew the neighbor's lease in November due to all the complaints and police. Could that work?

Lynne I feel you! I don't share a wall with these ones, but they're always outside in our shared 'front porch' area and smoking cigarettes and weed. If my door or window is ever cracked my entire house smells like that crap!
HCB - love the profile updates btw! I don't know he won't even give his email address so I can send a formal written complaint. I've never even personally seen him, he has his sister-in-law collect rent every month. I'm going to ask the property manager/sister-in-law if she's heard anything.
I'm sure they can refuse to renew the lease even if he supposedly can't actually evict them (even though they've literally broken like all the rules on the first page of the lease?) I think the dude just doesn't want to pay for the official papers. o.O
