HELP!!!
I don't know what happened except maybe for one thing so I need your opinions.

I went to the doctor about a year ago and she told me my blood pressure was a little high, probably because of the weight gain the last few years. She gave me some pills which I no longer need since my pressure dropped. But she also gave me some pills because she said I was retaining water and in combination with the other's it would work better.

She gave me a large prescription of the water pills and frankly I didn't take them but started them about two months ago. I stopped taking those last Thursday or Friday. My the last few days has been very healthy and I know I didn't exceed 1000 calories the last few days and did workout though not 100%. I gained 1 pound since my last weigh in and I can't explain why. Could the fact I stopped taking the pills have something to do with this? Your thoughts?

yes. if you are no longer taking the pills your body may be retaining water, this is not a bad thing in that we need water, if your pressure has dropped enough that it's no longer affecting your BP then you don't need the pills, but now that you aren't taking them, your body will be managing your water retention itself and it was bound to go up. Don't stress it (because that helps retain water) and let it balance itself over time naturally.

i know this is easier said than done...but don't fret about one pound. esp since weight can fluctuate greatly. do you feel bloated and how do your clothes feel? it could be many factors such as you are not eating enough on days you are working out, are you sleeping enough, are you stressed? All these can cause you weight gain.

Absolutely YES!! Water in our bodies is at best an unpredictable phenomenon closely related to the ups and downs of our personal metabolism, and can vary from day to day for a seemingly limitless number of reasons. This can be a comforting thought on those days when we've done well calorie-wise, but the scale refuses to reward us with lower numbers. For myself, I've learned to weigh, then wait a few days, then weigh, then wait. It really is about the body adjusting itself over time.

Yes. If you're body is retaining water then you need help to take the extra water off. Less salt, more fruits and vegies. Try to eat less fried foods and work out more than usual if you can.

It's just your body naturally adjusting to being without the meds now... I wouldn't get to worried about 1 lb. and your body will run more efficiantly will the proper amout of water and will be to your advantage in the long run! :)

Absolutely just from not taking the pills. 1lb water weight isn't bad at all and nothing to worry about. I would mention it to your doctor just in case so they can make sure it's not upping the blood pressure, but generally 1lb is about 16oz of water, shouldn't cause too much of an increase. Congrats on not needing the blood pressure pills anymore, that's fantastic!

It is from your body adjusting to not taking the water pills anymore. Your weight will fluctuate for a couple of weeks just trying to recalibrate. Rest assured it will get better, and a big WAY- TO -GO! for not needing the B/P meds. That's a huge step in the right direction...

yes, but the fact you may not be getting enough calories in especially if you are exercising may have something to do with it. I would up your calorie intake to at least 1200 if not a little bit higher to see if it helps.

Yes, but remember water is not the enemy. Fat is. Don't use water pills to drop 'weight'. You'll only be shorting your body on the most important resource it needs for cleansing your system. You could also retard processes that are important.

Thanks for all the terrific advise. I take all of it upon advisement. It seems like we are all becoming a big family here; being supportive of each other. That's a wonderful thing and again thanks. I'll continue on my plan of eating water rich foods as Anthony Robbins taught me when I attended his Unleash the Power Within Workshop. It really does help when combined with healthy proteins. Have a fantastic week guys and girls and don't lose focus.
