We are planning to go to our local Chinese buffet with friends this week. I'm sure we will all enjoy it. Here's why this place makes me happy. It has a small hibachi grill area in the middle of the regular buffet area. I head there first. They let you pile your choices on a plate whatever portion you need. Protien: beef, chicken, eggs, shrimp, and raw veggies: mushrooms, cabbage, peppers (hot or sweet), cauliflower, broccoli, onions, garlic and more. They grill up everything right there while you wait. You can request as little or as much of the sauces or seasonings as you like. This is great for me because they will prepare just the way I do at home. So much better than going to the steam tables where you don't know what's really included in the dish. The place we go to is named "Ichiban". See if there's one in your area.

Yikes, note to self, stay away from Panda Express. even the veggies were high in grams of carb per serving. Tried a fast from 7pm Friday night until 5pm Saturday, broke it at Panda Express. Took my evening insulin before eating and an hour later I was at blood glucose of 212. I ate the seared Shrimp and Beef + veggies. Looked up the carbs to see totals = 36 grams. Last time I'll eat that. Should have looked it up first. Shrimp tasted fine but beef still tasted like nothing to me. Now I remember why I don't eat beef, tasteless to me. Sorry beef eaters.

Is there a place online where I can learn more about (IF) fasting? Or can someone give me a brief explanation of how it works. I'm not sure if it would be safe for me to try since I'm T2 diabetic on insulin. Just cutting carbs back has allowed me to cut my insulin doses by a third or more most days. My fingers are like pin cushions from checking my blood glucose multiple times per day. I have to be careful because when I don't eat something for too many hours my blood sugars can go either way, dangerously low then I have to eat something or too high when my liver decides enough is enough and spills out some glucose. it's a roller coaster ride I don't wish on anyone. Any info on intermittent fasting would be helpful.
