I am a professional artist whose life is way too sedentary! I started growing our own organic vegetables and fruits as a way of increasing my exercise and breaking up my day.

With a history of PCOS I have lost weight several times over the course of my life only to have it creep inexorably back up after a few years. I have successfully lost a mass quantity of weight only to go higher the next time (stop me if you've heard that one before).

I recently discovered Intermittent Fasting and starting May 16, 2016 began practicing it 5:2 (5 normal eating days with 2, 24hr fasts weekly) with the goal of also including 16:8 eating window daily (16 hours fasting, 8 hours eating generally from 12-8 or so). This significantly lowers insulin which helps the body to burn fat reserves instead of storing fat. One month in I have lost 12.4 lbs., feel much better and am very much enjoying the program.
