Inspired by Miraculum's poetic post; thanks for the inspiration!
I pay the price when I eat rice,
potatoes, bread or gravy.
I think ahead, eat veggies instead,
cream, butter and cheeses just maybe.
a single slice, though it might seem nice
of bread makes my mind just a little bit crazy
pizza's an ouch, it lays me on the couch
for days with a mind dark and hazy
Give me vegetables green, meats fatty not lean,
avocados and nuts to sustain me.
If I get up and move; establish a groove,
- keeps my body alive and not lazy
Celebrate life, don't wallow in strife,
is the key to happiness, maybe?
The body's a garden; our seeking ardent,
we're learning to be healthy, self-caring
We're buddies who share our triumphs and cares,
whose thinking and woes need airing.
Well, we're troubled by fat, but much more than that,
we're sharing our life-learning journeys.
