Well another week and another fail at the wheel, I just seem to have this motivation which I feel will last me a lifetime that just dissipates into thin air and then end up forgetting the whole thing.
I feel motivated to lose weight but don't do it. EEESSSSHHHHH. HOW?

I'm only saying this because of knowing your past losing record...but I personally think it's from the carbs. Counting calories is a highly effective way if your body will acclimate itself to it. But if you have insulin resistance, or issues around hormones, metabolic stuff that is thrown into high gear from the intake of carbs, you get into the cravings cycle, and end of letting your brain and those hormones talk you into the wrong types of foods to be eating. It's rather normal. Willpower will only take you so far. Then wisdom needs to kick in and help carry you awhile! Much Love.

If it helps I think what jsfantome says makes sense - I am counting not only cals, but carbs and fats too - it's a bit of a pain, but it's going well and it means I stick to eating the 'right', more nutritious things, as too many of the 'wrong' things will make you go over your carbs and fat gram limits. I found some medical advice that suggested that the body only needs a certain % of your calorie intake as carbs, so I have worked it out according to that rule and it seems to be working, although I have only been dieting for two weeks and only one of them on here - only discovered this site last Sunday. This is what I found and have been following - They currently suggest that about half your daily calories should come from carbohydrates, so you can determine how many grams of carbohydrates you need base on your calorie intake. "Start by determining your daily calorie need and divide that number in half. That's how many calories should come from carbohydrates. Each gram of carbohydrate has four calories, so divide the number from the first step by four. The final number is equal to the amount of carbohydrates in grams you need each day. For example, a person who eats approximately 2,000 calories per day should take in about about 250 grams of carbohydrates (2,000 divided by 2 = 1,000 and 1,000 divided by 4 = 250). Carbohydrates include complex carbohydrates, like starches, and simple sugars such as white sugar, high fructose corn syrup and honey. Choose 100% whole grains and fruits and vegetables for most of your carbohydrates. Balance your carbohydrate choices with protein sources such as lean meat, poultry, eggs, or fish, and some healthy fat such as olive oil, avocado or nuts and seeds." Hope that helps. If you need someone to groan at or moan to, I'll be here. Good luck! :)
