Today was the low carb day with mostly yard work and aerobic activity. No weghts.
I am very curious if a day on -day off carb cycling will work to loss fat and also improve my muscle retenition as I diet.

I'm not sure how old you are, but your back you want to make sure lasts a lifetime. I had a bone scan for cancer, and no cancer was seen, but lots of suspect lower back, shoulder, and knee suspects were described. I understand your love for the weights, but I do believe weight lifting, especially heavy weights, have their window of time.

You are so right. That window was passed by 7 years ago just before 50. But I learned that you do not have to lift heavy to feel the pump!
