I changed my goal weight to 306 bc the last time I weighed that was in 2006. I pretty much hovered at 313 for the next 8 years. Then the last several years I gained a lot more. So this will give me a mini-goal on my way to 299.

You should always have a mini goal in site so it's like a bullseye for you to hit every day, every week, or every month. Excellent motivational tool. Don't forget to reward yourself for every goal you meet just don't make it a food reward.
