Oooops! After six weeks of doing great, and dodging all kinds of high carb pitfalls; I finally tripped up, and had to pay the price. Ouch!!! My Aunt, and sister in law, decided to make soup yesterday, out of some of the remaining food items from the week. Split pea soup, and a chicken and rice with lemon soup; and of course some skillet corn bread to go with it. I couldn't resist the split pea, as it, aside from being one of my favorites, was a soup that was passed on and made by my Grandmother, and Mom alike. The split pea was delicious, the chicken was okay; it was just too different. Though I enjoyed the soups, and the corn bread, I made the mistake of letting it lead to a small piece of double chocolate cake, and carrot cake. However, last night, I paid the price for my indescretion, and lack of will power. My legs started cramping up, on the drive home, and repeatedly during the night. The sad part is, I knew it would happen, but I just had to have the split pea soup. I guess the good news is, without missing a beat, I'm jumping right back into my low carb way of eating, and chalking it up to a lesson learned; allbeit painfully.
