So I don't know if I should sign it, but Speedway is apparently in a bunch of legal trouble in Kentucky for their Labor/break issues. "They've" asked us to sign a waiver to sign away our 30 minute unpaid breaks. We're supposedly supposed to get a 20 minute paid break and a 10 paid on-called breaks. But as you will probably realized it's very difficult to get any kind of breaks at speedway since the reason why they're in legal trouble. I'm not sure if I should sign the waiver since I'm about to leave the business anyways and my husband doesn't want me to sign it at all because I oftentimes don't get breaks. What is your all's opinion on whether or not wit us a good idea to sign the waiver? The rub is if I don't sign the waiver I have to take an unpaid 30 minute break which will cut into my paycheck often times I need that money and I don't necessarily want to take an unpaid 30 minute break nor do I understand how necessarily we will be able to work this out with our particular ability to schedule people because we don't have enough people to schedule these kind of breaks. On the other hand Ryan may be correct and that the reason why that they're doing this is there's a class action lawsuit on the way and over the past 12 years there's a lot of breaks that I just haven't been able to take for example last year they were over (9 hours of paid breaks) that I just didn't get to take at all. and every time I try to address that with Joey's boss he pretty much laughed it off and said haha that's the price of doing business. Which was very insulting since he gets paid lunches, taken to Vegas, never missed his breaks, and quite frankly gets paid four to six times as much as I do so I find it quite insulting when he says things like that and then interrupts my lunch and then asked me to go eat a front while he goes and talks sports in the back with Joey. 🤷 it just seems a little suspicious to ask us to sign away our break...
