Donated blood this morning, gotta replenish the body. Although I'm wishing I'd gone for the Nutter Butter. Grandma's cookies are not as good as I remembered.

I don’t eat cookies. Maybe they aren’t as good as you remember because you’ve been eating healthier? I agree w Bubbles on this one. Steak or liver is what they should offer. Or real whole fruit at least. Not cane sugary foods.

I donated blood a couple of times and got anemic. Had to take iron tablets, not cookies!

You need iron and water to replace the blood (excellent that you donated, BTW). Vending machine food is not the answer, as tempting as it may be for you.

Bingo! You just lost a good amount of blood. Steak and liver takes long to digest... high glycemic foods to energize your body quickly so you won’t pass out walking. Types of fuel matters, know when to eat them

I do drink lots of water before and after donating. I usually don't have the cookies, if I do grab one of the free snacks, I usually go for the trail mix. But I had already had nuts with my breakfast. I donate every 2 months so I do take an iron supplement. My hematocrit was over 15 today, so plenty high.

I used to donate regularly, can't now due to medications I take.
