I am soo hungry today! I feel like I could and want to eat everything in sight! I have been making good choices (other than a few to many Multigrain tortilla chips when I got home) but I am still so hungry! What are some tips for kicking this crazy appetite? ? I have even drank all my water and more!

Hey!! I would recommend eating more filling foods. (apples, avocado's, beans, chick peas..Hummus, whole grains like whole oats, brown rice etc). no breads... even though they say "WHOLE WHEAT" it still has the same effect on the body as white bread this is because they grind and pulverize the whole grain in to such a fine powder that the body doesn't have to do any work to digest it... it will absorb super quick and metabolize into sugar in you system making you add fat and stay hungry. Stay away from white stuff as much as possible and eat WHOLE FOODS they keep you fuller and don't turn to sugar in your body so fast. I know its hard .. it took me like 7 months to stay consistent but wow does it pay off. my fave trick is to eat an apple 15 mins before a meal. Apples are one of the most filling foods for their size.. plus the simple sugars in them are used up by your body almost instantly ...plus their yuuuuuummmmmyyyy!!! good luck

Hey don't drink water you'll just make yourself hungrier and prone to over indulge afterwards. Despite what your craving at the moment, stay strong and choose healthy alternatives. The following are things I tend to snack on when I'm hungry - Apple and skim milk, Whole wheat bread and PB, (try banana instead of bread), Cheerios/Cereal and milk (small bowl), tuna straight out the can (remember thats 2 servings), nuts and trailmix, almond milk, lowfat string cheese and yogurt, salad, toast and your choice of spread. I avoid chips and wheat thins because portion control is so hard when your hungry- I can eat two handfuls along with the mouthful I'm chewing and still want more. Just don't go hungry and prepare for your cravings beforehand by having healthy options at hand. Hope this helps!

I am going to say this very gently...seriously...this is from my own experience...carbs seem to beget MORE carbs...Although I once at just ONE DORITO (I literally let it melt in my mouth)...I am finding out...MOST of the time I am much better off to skip Chips of any kind...and even bread...yes, I can eat just one slice or make a sandwich with two slices of whole wheat (120 total calories) BUT, it just makes me want more...so ALL I am saying is be cautious..and very low cal veggies like celery and cabbage can be great snacks when eaten raw... Thank you all so very much for your insight and support through this journey! I will make sure to have the right snacks on hand for the next time this crazy appetite hits. I have a gluten intolerance so anything wheat I can't have. Makes for some ffrustrating snack times. But with FS friends, my husband and my kids.. I will succeed! ! We all will succeed! !
