Still here gang. Long day at work yesterday. Helped another department with some rework, so was not at my desk all day. Additionally, still having internet outage issues at home with Frontier. So I apologize for missing all the action on the mountain lately. Came in early to catch up real quick.

Perseverance....

Perseverance is how we do not quit. Perseverance is not a marathon; it is many marathons, but you can't think of it in those terms. If you do, you may become overcome with the task. You may look too far ahead of yourself & let the small problem at your feet trip you up.

Perseverance is about stringing together small victories. Perseverance is about working through small defeats. Perseverance is the long term win; comprised of many small wins piled on top of each other, interwoven with overcoming those times you were defeated. You have all heard the term, "Lost the battle, but won the war;" that is perseverance.

So as we climb, we persevere. We win. We overcome. We continue to move forward. That is exactly how we DO NOT QUIT. We legion shall persevere. We legion shall help our neighbors persevere. We do not stop. We do not quit. We climb this mountain till the marathons are done.

Then we live. Live as free brothers & sisters. Not fools doomed to repeat the actions of our past; but as guides on these trails we are now forging. We prevent the people around us from repeating our mistakes & show the ones who have, how to fix them.

We legion. We persevere. This is our legion. And one day, this will not only be our peak; it will be our mountain.

Can you throw an extra line down Jon? I'm so tired I feel like I'm going to fall off. Got out of bed, laced up the sneakers and dragged myself through my walk but I hurt all over and I'm tired! Part of me wants to give up, but the other part remembers the 130 pound monkey I dropped on the way up the mountain. Don't want it back.

There are some great gems of wisdom in this one. To the top! Sans baggage!

Ms. Bug dig deep. It takes many swings of the hammer to mold & shape the hot iron as it lay on the anvil. The hammer works hard. The hammer fills with heat from the friction of the impacts. The hammer takes damage; as not every blow is absolutely precise & the hammer glances off unintended targets. Over time, the hammer must be mended; the handle replaced. But in the end, the iron bends to the will of the hammer. The iron, becomes what the hammer always intended. People admire & gaze upon the art the iron was transformed into; but never acknowledge the old, rugged hammer hanging by the heat of the furnace. The same worn hammer that did all the work. The hammer that made the transformation from raw ore to celebrated ornament possible for the iron. People like to celebrate the transformation, but forget the architect. So Ms. Bug, when I say be the hammer; this is the vision I see in my head. And when I see the ornament you have forged; I know I am in the presence of a skilled hammer. Therefore Ms. Bug, I know you work hard. I know you can weather harsh conditions. I know you have earned some scars; & sometimes, you may just need a little rest. But I want you to know this as well, you are one fine hammer. You are a hammer, that other hammers aspire to be like. So rest there on your peg for while & let one of us fresh hammers hit the iron for you awhile. And rest assured, that with all your skill, nothing you don't want back, ain't coming back; out of fear of being hit in the head by a hammer!
