#$%^&*!!! Ouch!!!
Got a massive calf cramp when running today. First day in my new shoes too! I was feelin fine, on minute 18 of running (broken up into 5 minute running intervals, run/walk run/ walk) and on the home stretch, wind at my back, slight downhill. Whammo...cramp stopped me cold!Thoght the walking warmup would have adequately stretched me. Maybe just an old fart trying to run! Hope this heals fast as i DO NOT WANT TO LOSE THE CARDIO i HAVE GAINED!
This happened about 5 years ago, pain lasted like 2 weeks and I never ran again. Thats NOT gonna be the case here...I am actually enjoying my little incrementally inreasing jogs!

Small steps. Make sure to take ibuprofin if you can tolerate it and stretch as much as you can. The ibuprofin is good for inflamation as well as pain. Good attitude. Start small.

Thanks windrider, thats what I am trying to do. Just a beautiful day to run though...first noon winddy day we have had for weeks! Feels better today...heat ice and madssaging area instead of ignoring it like I am so prone to do!
