Ok...well, today is a very hard & humbling day for me. As some of you know, I have had difficulties with my scale(s) for a long time. My first scale, that I started with on FS, consistently shows about an 8 pound difference (lower) than my new, fancy-pants scale that I bought several months ago. The new scale is super consistent and aligns more closely to the scales at my Dr's office and gives me all kinds of other info like body fat, BMI, water wt, muscle wt but I didn't want to switch over here on FS cuz of the big bump (difference) in the 2 scales.

But I can't fight it anymore...that darn 1st scale is SO random & erratic that I end up weighing on it about 6 times in a row then averaging them! I don't need the aggravation every morning any longer!

So...rather than completely start my weight history over, I'm gonna take the 'bump' today and go from here. No...I haven't gained 8 pounds overnight (though it wouldn't be the end of the world), but it will cost me my beloved "blue line"😭😭😭

The fact is that I weighed in at the Dr's office at 195 in April of 2021 and this morning weighed 142.0 on the dang fancy-pants scale and my BMI has dropped to 25.5. That's 53 pounds I can still be proud of💙💪

That’s incredible progress regardless of what your new scale says! I’m sure it’s annoying though. I spent a weekend away a few weeks ago and weighed myself On the scale there and as much as I wanted to claim that 4lb drop I knew it was just that the scale was old lol

YES!! You are doing great! The next time you're feeling down...go to the butter section of the supermarket and COUNT 53 POUNDS OF BUTTER!! That's fabulous>

My sliding weight scale weighs three pounds lighter than my digital scale, but both weigh consistently the same.

@Debbie...that's what was happening with my 2 scales too, for the longest time. And since I had started out with the 'lighter' reading one, I (of course) wanted to stay with it 😂 But now it's just 'CRAZED' so it's time to put this whole goof-up behind me and focus on the days ahead. Thanks for letting me know this comparison, so I didn't go out and blow more $$ on yet another scale!😛

No kidding ... hold your head up you should be proud - I feel your sadness at the loss of your blue line - because that seems to me to be the world's hardest gain!!! I have another 3 pounds to get into the Healthy BMI zone --- and do you think that I can shake ... I shook it the east and then I shook it to the west and I shook it all night long ... and nothing!!! (right out loud laughter) .... and off we go again - plodding right along with our scales under our arms.

You’re such an inspiration! That immediate weight gain happened to me, too, when I got a new scale……instant 7 lbs up!! But your perspective is right on……..you’ve lost a ton of weight, are getting your activity in, etc…..and those are the things that could towards health! ( not a scale registering a pound of 2 one way or another) Keep on! I need the companionship.

CrystalJo24, you've made impressive progress, no matter which scale you're using. And yeah, when you're adjusting how you weigh, it can mean the numbers look temporarily wonky. You've actually got me thinking I should get a better scale -- at least one that goes down to 10ths and does the body fat thing
