I just don’t know what to do 😞
I’ve been trying to control my binging for such a long time and it’s not working. Luckily no gains, but it makes me upset

I understand what you mean, I used to binge a lot and the feeling of not being in control could be very uncomfortable. Part of what helped me was reading about the experience of people going through something similar, and talking to non-judgemental experts at ANEB (in Québec). Depending where you live, there are some great ressources out there! Another thing that helped was to change my habits when I felt a craving. First I'd drink a tall glass of water, and take the time to breathe. Then, if I felt it did not pass, I'd go for a short walk, and sometimes take a few nuts too. Most of the time, the craving had passed. And if not, I would sometimes indulge, but with less harmful food than my craving called for. I can tell you, binging on broccoli is not the same 🤣 But what changed everything, for me, was when I started forgiving myself for binging. Accepting that it could happen, that it was part of me and that it did not make me a lesser person. Hope this helps! You are not alone 💕

I still feel pretty bad when I binge, even though I'll try to work it into the day's calories. keep in mind that we always binge on junk, that food is unnatural and highly addictive. If we never ever ate that stuff we wouldn't want it or crave it. For me it's things like cheezits. I have some, the addiction kicks in, then I binge on 500g of them. Be aware of how foods like this are engineered to get us eating and buying them, but don't beat yourself up over it.

Thanks for the kind advice 😊 I hate feeling this way all the time and to know someone else is there makes me feel heard. For me, I just want something to eat all the time. It’s a very bad habit and I’m so scared of losing control.

Oh I get that too, I'm constantly ravenous and have been my whole life. Luckily when I was 190 I just looked muscular, until the shirt came off lol. The monstrous appetite is likely something that will never go away. I've had to learn to fill it with healthy foods and snacks. Takes a long time to get used to, but you will, and if you still eat a bit of the bad stuff it's ok, keeps you from bingeing all the time. And I can't promote regular exercise enough. Makes all the difference. Anyway, yesterday I ate 4000 calories. It happens. Once in a while it's ok and won't hurt your progress.

Louise Hay urges us to STOP all unkind self talk. what we focus on we get more of. You are lovely and lovable at any weight. I find youtube subliminals helpful - like background music some days and part of night a lot.

When I snack, its usually with a meal like a sandwich with low-sodium potato chips or even as as snack -- I weigh them ONLY have 20 gm of low-sodium potatoes chips. I'm on Weight Watchers, 20 gm is 3 Smart Points out of daily Smart Points which is 23 Smart Points.

Woah I’m so surprised so many people actually paid attention to this post. I will definitely aim for healthy snacks, drink water, go on a short walk as well. And I definitely agree on stopping negative self talk. Your likes and comments alone really motivate me 😊 Thanks for the support! I will stop binging for you guys! Love the FS community ❤️

Same, I eat normal healthy during the day but then 10pm-midnight I can’t stop binging all the bad stuff :(

I’m an evening binge eater too, it’s like after the little one goes to bed hubby and I snack until we’re ready to go to sleep 😴 so far what I’m doing is slowly removing 1 item and super portion control in what I am snacking on. So instead of a pop and chips I will only have a small handful of chips and water

I think I binge because I get really bad cravings on strict diets 😢 The things is, when I get stressed I wanna eat. And when I eat I get stressed. So....
