Happy Saturday everyone!!

I hope everyone had a great Friday!! I think I will make Fridays my carb day. The day I don't really have to watch my carb intake. In other words, I can get a sub from Firehouse Subs day!!

I actually made my calorie count yesterday. Yay me! I never thought it would be the challenge it has turned out to be. I know there are people here that are having difficulty just getting DOWN to their daily calorie intake. What the hell is up with me??? I have not been able to eat breakfast when I first get up, since I was like 14. I Know this next sentence is TMI, but here goes...If I try to eat ANYTHING when I first get up,(sans coffee)it comes right back up, and right quickly.

So, for the first hour after I wake, I get coffee. That's it. Then I can think about breakfast, if I get up early enough. Lately, I haven't been getting up until 10:30 or 11:00. Me being a lazy ass, not really.
Me staying up until 2:00a.m?? That's more like it.

I hate being an insomniac. It seems like I have been that way since I "blossomed" at 14. Yea, late bloomer. That's me...mother nature was a little busy to come visit me for the first time.It seems that ever since then, I have had trouble sleeping.

I get the stupid mind won't shut off kind of sleeplessness. I think of some of the dumbest stuff while I try to sleep.

That aside, I get up late, so breakfast kind of becomes moot. I have my coffee for my breakfast, and then its straight on to lunch. My lunches, haven't been really bad, I don't think. Making lunch my calorie heavy meal of the day kind of failed...but that's OK.

I have been counting calories, and logging everything I eat faithfully. I have that mind block still in place, it seems. I just don't eat like I used to. I don't eat the portion sizes I used to. Some of this comes with getting older. I take that as a matter of course. I kind of like that "mental lap band" I somehow created for myself. It keeps me from overeating, or eating like I used to. I still have no idea how it came about, but I am sure not complaining!!

I know how Gastric Bypass and Lap bands work. With GB, you can only eat a few ounces at at time. One or two bites of this, one or two bites of that. With Lap-band, you can eat one burger, but not 2. That's where I am right now.

Getting back to why I can't get to 1200 calories?? Food choices maybe?? I've changed the way I cook a little bit, but no big change there. Watching my carbs?? This is more likely the culprit. I started using my steamer again. That really cuts out the fat, and alot of calories.

Its something I have to investigate, but for now, I'm going to let things be as they are. I make up for the lost calories on other days in the week when I do make 1200 calories. I've made it over 1400, not quite to 1500.

Time for me to go make my lunch and something for the hubby. He's growling about it right now, instead of making it himself...Lord I love him. ;)

Yep - it's really hard to max out a 1200 cal day w/steamed vegs. If you don't have a reason for limiting fat intake I suggest hummus, avocado and peanut butter. They up the nutritional intake without stuffing my stomach the way veggies would in the same caloric total.

Thanks Bella!! I love hummus! I haven't had a reason to buy it lately..lol! I love avacado too. I just got back from the store, and was looking at some, and decided not to get them. And I made chicken taco's for supper too!! They would have went great with them!
