Horrible eating day today, but it's okay. I planned for this, and I'm going to go for a walk later or maybe use the gazelle instead at 6:30. Usually kiddo would be in Taekwondo---and I use that time to exercise.

I'm not beating myself up for today. My eating this weekend was the best in years.

I guess we both had a horrible eating days! I blame it on the holiday. That's okay, I should not bring babybel cheese in the house, and I knew that at costco...I swear those little red things talk to me. The great thing that happened today was that my youngest son and I explored the new greenway they just opened by my house. It was awesome! It runs all along the Neuse River. I must have been walking fairly slow though because we were gone for over and hour and my Nike app said we only walked 2.5 miles. Tomorrow is another day...and well I'll tip this wonderful lemon drop martini my husband made me to that and hope that I don't exceed 1300 calories then (I guess that means I won't be having another martini tomorrow).

Great...your lunch is making me hungry already. This guy could live on brats and kraut...lol. Getting a wheel or two off the rails should definitely happen from time to time. Getting healthy isn't about taking away the things we love...it's about using our control to stop abusing them (with the exception of smoking). I smoked baby backs and tip back a couple of beers this weekend. The key is to keep track regardless of the damage done...accountability. You seem to be doing a great job. Give yourself a hand for burnning more calories than taking in...on a holiday nontheless!

@changemaker: I have the same problem with the babybels from Costco. I should probably just give up my Costco membership as I have a major addiction to it...and...their Polish and kraut, $1.50 meal deal. Sigh.

I'm a celiac, so I don't have the same problem with their Polish and Kraut. I'm sure if I could eat it I would though. However my son loves to get their caesar salads for some reason. He also loves to eat at IKEA for some reason too. Maybe it is a warehouse effect? Have a great day to both of you!

Morning Brian and Dawn--I, too, love Costco's food court and their samples. The good news though is I can eat samples because I need the calories to make it through the whole store, right? :) And I felt good about yesterday--I splurged one day instead of letting Memorial Day weekend be an excuse to eat to excess all weekend. This next weekend, I am going to go over to Lodi and go hiking. It's suppose to be mid 70s and sunny so perfect weather. Kiddo will come with me and perhaps the husband. My youngest sister is moving in next weekend too--she has an internship down in Madison, so will be living with us during the week and going back to Eau Claire to see her fiance on the weekends. (Well, that's the plan--we'll see how much gas costs!!) The scale is slowly moving, and pants that didn't fit are starting to fit again. Plus my energy level feels so much higher, my stress level lower and I just feel better overall. Have a great day--and chat with you later. Dessa
