4.1 miles walked this AM for the 100-mile challenge; brings the 2-day total to 8.4 miles; dogs along for 2.1 miles today.

The weather seemingly can't make up its mind how today is going to be, so that's why I decided to just go ahead and get all the mileage done at the same time. I had planned on doing a more typical 3.1 miles and then doing a 1-mile route later in the day, but part of the sky looked like clear weather was coming (translation: hotter temps) and the other direction had darker, almost storm clouds (translation: rain), so neither looked to be helpful later in the day. As it turned out, within 20 minutes of me completing the mileage, it began to rain!

Now, it's just cloudy, but I don't regret getting it all done at one time. My legs are still a bit tired from yesterday, but I'd say that the extra mileage today was, perhaps, just a bit easier than yesterday. I hope that trend continues or it's going to be a VERY long 4 weeks!

I'm also going to try to bank a few extra tenths-of-a-mile here and there. I've got a few Fridays coming up this month that are planned elliptical days, due to other commitments near the gym. I don't know how many miles my previous elliptical routines have been, as I was more concerned with overall time and calories burned. I may have to do an elliptical routine PLUS some walking on those days....won't know until I get back on the machine and see how much mileage I get that way.

My food is going well. I just need to behave myself and stay with what I know works.

Well aren't we just burning up the pavement! For whatever it is worth, it takes approx 4 min. of "walking" on my elliptical to get to 1/4 of a mile. BTW- I'm certainly not worried about you behaving yourself!

Oh Buffy, I hope the gym's elliptical magically gets more miles to the minute! I've been able to push myself to do 40 minutes on the thing, but over an hour (to do 4 miles +/-)???!!! Well, at least I can psych myself up for doing both the elliptical PLUS some additional walking. Good luck on your Weekend Watch! Did you ever find anything at Harbor Freight for your DH?

Sandy - Notice I said "walking". What you do on your elliptical is probably more like jogging! And yes, got a 1/2" reversible pneumatic drill, a metal cutter and some supplies. And I have the receipt just in case I messed up!
