Overcast, cooler morning - about 80 degrees - so a perfect morning for a walk with doggies. With a breeze kicking up, dogs went 2.5 miles and then I went out again and added another loop to bring my total to 3.2 miles.

Good news for us is that Isaac looks to be heading to our west, although the warning is still up for us. I feel sorry for those in LA; hopefully the changes and improvements done after Katrina will help them weather this system.

After walking, I moved almost all our outdoor stuff into a protected area by the house. The plastic lawn chairs will just go right on into the pool when we're done swimming. I set up the grill so I can grill out our meats today. I hope to watch the radar and get the grilling done before the winds get too blustery.

I also saw a few branches that have grown onto the roof, so I took out the ladder(s), climbed up there and got those branches taken down. I certainly feel a lot better climbing the ladder with my weight in the 140's than I did when I was maxing out, or exceeding, the ladders' weight limits!! Also took down our small weather remote that always seems to fall down when we have stronger winds. It sure beats having to hunt for it in the bushes.

All in all, we're as set as we can be....or as we're going to be. I'll still fill some water jugs, but that's easy, as the jugs are here and ready to be filled. I'm not as worried about this storm as I was in the last couple of days, as the track of the storm has changed. But....note to self....Self: Come up with a strategy to prevent stress eating! I know I do this, but this situation, and also the time before my doctor's appointment, have brought this to the forefront again. I need to come up with a plan for these times, as just winging it doesn't work!

Good for you on trying to be proactive on the stress eating triggers. I am glad you are preparing as best you can for this nasty storm, I pray you are all safe & sound when this is all over. I wish I had some words of wisdom to share with you on the stress eating thing, but I have been failing miserably on that front myself, on second thought maybe I do...stick to foods on the list! My personal opinion is as long as I stick to low carb foods, overeating is a different thing, one that may take me forever to figure out!

Oh my - you up on a ladder cutting branches! I don't care how skinny you've gotten - that takes guts! As for stress eating - those old habits of munching for comfort never seem to really go away, do they? But it sure looks like you've got a handle on it.

GG....I thought I had conquered the stress-eating, but I guess realistically, I just had had a relatively stress-free time during my journey. Once the stress, even low-level, comes in, I'm heading right on back to throwing something in my mouth on a seemingly constant basis! Maybe I just need to follow your suggestion eating only foods ont he list and string them throughout the day in small quantities???? Hmmmm...have to give that some thought. When either of us gets this figured out, we'll make a million!!!

Buffy, I got up on the 8' stepladder but couldn't quite get to the last 2 branches, even on the step before the one they warn you not to step on, so I thought it best to come down and try it on the extension ladder. That gave me a better reach so I could get to those last 2. I sure wouldn't try it today, as the winds have picked up.

Bren, it looks like after drowning New Orleans, Isaac will travel up the Mississippi and give many of those dry areas some much-needed rain. We drove through that area on our vacation and those farm fields are parched!!!

Thanks Heather. Fortunately...so far....it looks like we're getting off really easy, compared to just a couple days ago when the Weather Channel experts had us in the eye of the storm and were talking about "horrendous" effects!
