First week went well. Something finally clicked in my head and by God's grace I've eaten no more than 2000 cal/day the last 8 days. I feel better already. The first day I had hunger pains, the first in a long time, but because my thinking has changed I didn't have any temptation to stray from my plan. I'm ensuring I'm getting the appropriate nutrition, eating green veggies, carrots, fruit, various meats, etc. The only things I've cut out are soda and high calorie processed foods. I stopped drinking caffeinated sodas 9 weeks ago. After about 4 weeks I didn't have cravings for them anymore. I was still drinking clear sodas about once every other day, but for some reason I wasn't hooked on those and when I changed the way I eat last Thursday it was no trouble giving that up as well. I had shrimp the other night, very satisfying, along with some goulash I'd made the night before. Not generally two things you'd find people eating when they want to lose weight. For me it's calories. High protein, low fat, low carb, paleo, raw, etc don't really matter to me as I'm just making sure I'm getting my nutrition and eating no more calories than I should. I'm looking at it in two ways: I've changed the way I eat and I may actually be dieting. However, if I'm "dieting" then to me dieting means never going off my "diet". My first goal is to get to 250. Then to 225, then to 200. The charts say I'm supposed to be about 175. I seriously doubt I'll ever get there, but I'm okay with that since I'm focused on my life diet being healthy.
