Yesterday was my 4-month anniversary on FS. (Okay, technically my 1/3 anniversary.) I’ve lost a little more than 25 pounds since May, I can now jog a bit more than half a mile, and my BMI is 26.9. It feels good.

Bananas, at this rate I’m hoping to hit my goal weight by the end of January (with allowances for normal winter weight gain/ slowing of weight loss). The combination of logging my intake and the luck of getting to be more active this year have made the process easier than I anticipated. *fingers crossed* I’ve also got to recognize the grace or luck involved and just hope that I continue to receive it.

Cutting calories, exercising self-restraint, eating smaller portions, and increasing physical activity are NOT forms of grace or luck, AvocadoTea -- that's hard work and changing your lifestyle. Nice, HCB! And, Bananas, I do feel lucky. Things that have been essential to my success that I don’t have control over include: my amazing supportive spouse, who hates phones at the dinner table but doesn’t complain when I bring mine out at every! single! meal!; my job, which shifted so that I get to ride my bike during the work day (so delightful!—and my supervisor has been excellent); my health, which has let me keep up the pace and burn the calories; the weather here, which was almost never too hot for outdoor exercise. . . And the positivity of the FS community. I’m proud of my progress, but I feel lucky too.
