I just don’t get it. Why can’t I lose weight.

I’m sorry to see you’re struggling, I definitely understand the frustration. I read that you have thyroid issues so that definitely explains the struggle. Just keep going it will move slowly in the right direction.

Did you do your Macros to see how many calories you can eat in a day to maintain? If I stay around 900 I lose 2 oz a day and about a pound a week. If I go up to a thousand or 1200 calories I maintain. If I go over 1200 calories depending on what the food is, I gain weight. I try and stay away from salt sugar all the Breads and starchy carbs. Those just turn to sugar and turn to fat.

I have never did a diet in my life, but I have learned a few things from my it, one don't weigh yourself right when you get up. your body hasn't had a chance to adjust so it will be a little bloated, two, the old saying, drink plenty of water is true, three, there are going to be pastors plateaus you will hit along the way, don't be discouraged just remember your goal and that you have many people rooting for you and last, even a rose takes time to become beautiful, so take the time and keep at it. This goes for everyone who gets discouraged.

First, I feel your pain. I started back on my weight loss/health journey When I got news my cholesterol was out of the world. I have had ups and downs but I’m in a happy place as I’m focused on the lifestyle changes and the small wins. Here are some tips that I found work for me and you may already do: - I drink 75-90 ozs of water daily. This doesn’t include my black coffee or unsweetened tea - use stevia, monk fruit or the sweetener that starts with an E - all other sweeteners are spike an insulin response - try to do low carb except veggies (limit bread, pasta or even beans) - use healthy fats (olive oil, sesame oil, avocado or pumpkin seed oil) - walk 2 miles 5-6x / week and do hip hop abs, strength training or Zumba 3x a week - I do intermittent faster, balanced diet, Mediterranean or keto/low carb. I mix it up to not burn out on food types like salads, meat, etc. - I bounce between 900 and 1500 calories per day. Too many low cal days and I stop losing. Too many 1200/1400 cal days and I stop losing or even gain a bit. - I found peace with 1-2 oz of premium tequila or whiskey. Unfortunately, even small amounts of wine force me into a plateau - I try to stay grateful and positive but some days are hard. - I have set small goals of 1 lb per week. On my google calendar, I add my goal weight for that week. I know Saturday is weigh in day. Next Saturday my goal weight is only 1 lb less. If I fall behind, I usually need to step up exercise or water - measure and weigh EVERYTHING. I always over estimate the weight or measurement instead under estimating Stay strong! Thank you all so much for your encouragement and supporting words. I average 1500-1700 calories a day and stay away from sweets. I guess I am going to have to lower my calories. My doctor just started me on thyroid medication a few weeks ago. I only have a half of thyroid. I admit my job I have now does not require a lot of activity. I sit at a computer 8 hours a day. Maybe I can look at getting a cycle desk. Thank you again.

🚲 This is not easy. It is truly a life style Change. Ive been changing for the last 10 years. I don't like the word fighting because I'm not fighting my mind. Im Changing my way of living. and because of child abuse when I was little my protection as an adult became my weight, this is an issue for men and women that have gone through abuse. My deep memories do not want me to lose but I have to lose for my health, grandson, he lives with me, 6 years old I'm 70 years older. I have to live to 105 and stell be funching at 100 percent. So keep going you can do this. It's your Gift to you and for you.

Is it good to experiment and try something different if the weight isn't moving. I would try to walk 15 minutes a day for a week and to see if that changes anything. That is of course if you don't walk right now.

So many nice and positive comments on here for you. I think everybody has good advice. Will be watching you and following you and encouraging you along the way. Many times our health and weight loss or weight gain have a lot to do with our upbringing 10 things tha have hurt us along the way. A lot of people on here get very personal and share some things that go through and it does help because this is not just about losing the weight and working out, but it's also about friendship and everybody encouraging and helping one another. We're all here for you ready

Are you honestly logging every bite that goes into your mouth? When I get careless about logging what I eat, I tend to stop losing. Good luck on your journey! 🌈

Hi Drape!! Just looking at your calories only, not detailed content, your in the same boat i am in, I am not gaining, but for me lose i have to be closer 1300-1100 fluctuating, possible 1400 if i get alot of exercise in.. It looks like both just have to get our calories down a little bit more. Have A great day! 🙂

Try strength training, and try to hit 10,000 steps a day. If you feel like you are eating way too little (1200 calories or less if you’re a woman, 1500 calories if you’re a man) try reverse dieting. Do it slowly, and you may gain a bit of weight but it will help you a lot in the long run!

Don't let a bumpy road bring you down. I was in a annoying see-saw routine for a long time before I had a decent drop. Just don't give up 💋

I was stuck for about 6 months. the key is to be consistent in your work. sooner or later you will break out. just dont give up.

make sure you're sticking to your macros. if you're just starting, it will take awhile to hit ketosis but stick to it stick to your macros and you'll be ok. good luck!

You will💪🙌 try maybe increasing your water. You may just be stuck. It happens to all of us. Just don’t give up!! Try switching things up a little.
