We tested bread yesterday and I lost a whole pound -- Hubby lost 2. Mind you, I did workout at the gym yesterday. I haven't exercised during the first 9 days of the Plan, and now I want to get back into exercising. I'm going to try to do the recommended 4 days a week for 30 minutes a day and see what happens.

Today is a rest day, but I did introduce raisin bran to my flax granola and enjoyed a cup of coffee and tonight we will try the beef again. We seem to gain with beef, so if I'm up tomorrow, I'll blame the beef, but test the raisin bran again on my next rest day. Am looking forward to enjoying the homemade potato chips again for my afternoon snack.

This is GOT to be the EASIEST way to lose weight and still get to eat so much! Yesterday Hubby just ate half of what I ate, because it is just too much for him. He may lose double what I do, but at 68 years of age (or any age, actually), I don't think it's good to lose the weight that fast.

He is still feeling sick to his stomach (I think he's detoxing after 15 years of heavy prescription drugs) but he got his sense of smell back after not being able to smell anything for about 20 years. He is noticing SOME other benefits so he's not going back to our old way of eating because he admits the meals are tasty and interesting. He also thrilled that he's finally following the doctor's orders to lose the weight.

The best thing about this Plan is that the urges to snack is gone! I haven't had a craving for any of the junk food in the house (and we do have LOTS because the grandchildren want them).

It used to be that after about a week on any diet I've been on before, I would go into the junk food and have a "cheat" day. Hasn't happened yet, which amazes me.

Also haven't had a craving for my morning coffee. I've only had coffee twice in the 5 days of Phase Two (Days 4-20) when I'm permitted to have the coffee. Even in Phase One (Day 1-3 detox), I didn't have a urge at all to drink it. I think the "excessive" water (125 oz at the beginning) made me forget about going to the coffee pot. I drink about 118 oz a day now -- it gets less as I lose weight. My goal weight is 166 lbs, and I'll be drinking 83 oz a day then.

Tomorrow, we will be halfway through the 20 day Plan. I just love this Plan and I think I'm going to repeat it, but this time I'll go on the Thyroid menu. We've been on the Winter menu.
