Had a feast at our formerly favorite restaurant to celebrate my husband’s return but everything tasted too salty and sweet for me with bad aftertaste that lasted all night. Guess I’ll continue to stick with homemade low-carb meals based on lean protein and veggies, instead of eating out, although it would be tough during the PCS move next month. Started to eat some brown rice and whole wheat bread. With the outside temperature quickly going down, feel like my poor blood circulation has gotten worse and my hands and feet are super cold. Is it normal after weight-loss? Always set my house at 70 degrees and my body just can’t seem to get warm. Now I’m bundled up, drinking hot tea and feeling lazy to work out. 🥶

Moon, I stay cold all the time also. I bundle, hot drinks, blankets. It has gotten worse with the weight loss

I've had the same problem too. I've always had bad circulation, but since losing weight I am never without my scarf and gloves in winter and I wear tights under my trousers and always seem to have an extra layer than everyone else. I tend to take something warm with me even in summer. It's approaching summer in south africa now so we've started eating salads for lunch, but I've been putting mine in the microwave for 30 seconds to heat up and my fingers ache when I'm chopping the cold veg up from the fridge. Craziness!

It’s possible that being cold is a side effect. One of the reasons they think this might be true is because your body is going to lower your metabolic rate when you lose weight to try to conserve energy, and in conserving energy, it doesn't have a lot of extra calories to keep you warm. Food tasting different is also another side effect due to hormonal changes during weight loss.

I think some insulation is gone and that may make you "feel" colder. You may adjust. I know that I usually feel cold if I go into ketosis .. just that first little bit before I adjust to it.

Thank you all for your input! All make sense. Hopefully I’ll adjust and this winter won’t be too rough. Stay warm and take care, everyone! 💕

It’s normal to feel colder. My theory has to do with heat transfer, the layer of fat acts like an insulator trapping the heat in. Also as you lose you have a higher surface area to volume ratio so you get more heat loss.
