So... I had to go to an emergency clinic today because apparently I have a bladder infection. I have been fasting today so all I have had is a big cup of coffee and some water. When they weighed me I almost fell over. I’m pretty sure that my cheat day yesterday didn’t jump start my metabolism THAT much, and I’m pretty sure 18 hours of fasting didn’t case me to drop 7 pounds. I think I need a new scale at home!

Breaking my fast now because I need to eat to take my antibiotics. Was out with my daughters when I had to stop at the clinic and I’m seriously in a lot pain so instead of driving 30 minutes to my house to cook I decided to stop at a diner that serves organic and farm to table meals. Eating gluten free pancakes with bacon. Don’t give a poop right now.

But seriously, I need a new scale

I have dropped up to 4 pounds in one day when fasting if I have fasted multiple days and 'dropped a lot of water' by running 7 miles in 90+ degree heat (only safe if I am in shape for it and I first take a MASSIVE amount (and I mean 5x+ the recommended dosage) of electrolyte concentrate).

Really? It just seems like a lot. I weighed myself this morning and I was still at 121. Seems kinda crazy.

Oh it could still be a 'broken scale' :) I just wanted to point out that fasting can produce some crazy weight loss. My last two 5 days fasts gave me a total 12 pound loss over 12 days because on some days I had a 4 pound loss. I was also able to not gain the weight back on the days I broke the fast (on the weekends). But, I literally woke up in the morning, weighed, weighed again that night and dropped 3 pounds, then woke up in the morning, weighed and dropped another pound.

Kenna I just started on Keto about a month ago. Yesterday was my very first fast day. Still trying to figure out what works for me. I’m going to do some researching on Keto and UTIs but I don’t think it had anything to do with it from what I’ve read so far. Hoping that’s the case, but I’m going to keep looking. I had a very strong pain in my side and it got way worse before it got better. Was pretty scary, but the pain is gone now. Drinking tons of water and taking my meds.

Lena— with the new information about the pain it is possible that you passed a kidney stone. If your diagnosis of UTI was based on your urine testing positive for blood the issue might have been stone as apposed to infection. I would suggest you make a follow up appointment with your doc and have your urine retested. Make sure you tell him about the pain that preceded you going to urgent care.. meantime I would suggest you stay hydrated.
