We back to 8g of carbs yesterday because I was sick of feeling tired and bloated. I felt AMAZING, and the only place I suffered was at the gym. I may up my carbs on gym days, as I've toyed with before, but but never really implemented. I'm so glad to be back to low carbs for the moment. I will keep up the fruit with the high fiber (raspberries, etc) pre-gym and see how that serves me.

I haven't been here for an update in my Journal for a while, but I've been logging my food faithfully. I've gained since raising my carbs to 50-60g/day to survive the holidays intact and without bingeing, but the threshold was still too high and I'm going to end the month heavier than I started for the first time since I started my weight loss journey (15 months).
However, I will be about 3-4 pounds heavier, so not the end of the world. I'm enjoying my time off and not stressing about the weight which I know will come off eventually. I mean, I'm not in a race - I'll lose it when I lose it, and after losing 90 pounds with 40 to go, I'm okay slowing the pace to something I can live with!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, enjoyed some well-deserved time off and has a great New Year.

Still fighting the bug, but back to the gym and feeling really good about my workouts. Can't wait for a little downtime this long weekend and next!

Glycogen storage is up along with accompanying water. Inability to visit the gym due to being sick (throwing up) has meant 8 days without the gym, and it's starting to show on the scale.
However, I think I'm finally starting to beat this bug, and my plan is to get to the gym 5 times a week between 12/16 and 1/1. That should put me back on track as far as exercise and feeling better, plus shed a few pounds of water weight.
I've decided to increase my carb to 50-60g/day between now and 1/1 also. I've been craving fruit like crazy and I think my body is telling me I'm vitamin deficient. I don't always eat all the greens I should on this plan, and vitamin deficiency, especially Vitamin C, could be responsible for my getting sick, too!
I will feel good if I'm still 187-189 in 1/1. Surviving the holidays intact and without gaining is my true goal. If I happen to lose, then great. But I plan on taking in fruit every day for the next two weeks to get my vitamins back in shape. Turns out that raspberries are incredible for low carb. There is so much fiber from the seeds, I can have quite a bit and hardly make a dent!
Still in ketosis every day, from 0.1 to 0.5, so I'm thrilled that remained in spite of a few days where I exceeded by carb goal, especially when sick (soup adds up!).

Lots of salty soup yesterday caused a minor uptick, but not worried. Past few days, I was teasing 185.5, so it's only a matter of time before I creep down there again. In spite of salt, only 1200 calories yesterday and plenty of running around got me a good deficit, I'm certain.
