This morning I had 119 for morning blood sugar and 137 at 9:30 a.m. These measurements are quite a bit lower than I had been having, 165, 148, etc. I read in S.A. article for this month that older people have a lower resting metabolism, more likely 1400 than 2300. At that rat e it will take a week or more to lose a lb, if I eat 1000 to 1100 a day. But that's good. Each lb off is better health and more ability to move and exercise. I started at what I think is about 204 lbs and now weight 194. That's the easy water loss and gut-being-emptier weight. Now I will have to work to actually weight 193, for instance, a goal I should reach about July 1, I am thinking. At the rate of the lost of 3-4 lbs a month, I should reach goal in about a year. But in the meantime, my whole system is being cleansed of excess sugar and stored fat. Good for me. When I reach 174 I should be able to begin meaningful exercise, working up to walking one hour a day.

But I do have to remember that sugary foods and excess calories are literally poison. Eating right foods is good medicine. If I keep that in mind, I should be able to resist folly. I hate being sick. My cold dried up and went away when I started this July 6. I hope that this factor, increased resistance to illness, continues. Writng down calories and recording weight and blood sugar really help.
