I just got back from a three day weekend in Minneapolis. My daughter moved out there a year ago, and this was my first visit. What a nice city! She and her partner just bought a little house there in a modest tree-lined neighborhood. They'll be there for at least five years while he's working on a Phd. at the University of Minn. I helped her plan out the fixes that the house needs; we planted a bunch of spring-flowering bulbs and painted the front door bright red, contacted some tradesmen to get the ball rolling. She appreciated having her folks there to see the house and support her in getting started with a few important improvements.

I also got to meet up with Lady in Denim, which I've already journaled about - What a treat!

I ate two meals out and a Sunday supper in - all wonderful food - all of which took me off my WOE somewhat. I didn't binge, but I will need to settle back in for the week. I did eat some corn chips in front of the TV during that edgy presidential debate - that was the only true food mistake of the weekend! That was nervous, irrational eating - during a national nervous and irrational moment! I did get in some good walking each day. Minneapolis has lovely parks and trails.
Glad to be home and back on track with my food routine. It was great to see my daughter (and my FS buddy!) I had an absolutely lovely trip!

I find the TV to be a very bad influence in my life. I generally leave it off, unless I need urgent information, like the recent storm. I'm so very glad that you and Lady had a chance to meet up and share some significant time. I love Minnesota....my dad used to have a summer home there.

Erika sounds like a wonderful weekend. I used to travel regularly to Minneapolis and I thought it was quite lovely. FYI - you may have noticed that I journaled (or commented somewhere) that the debate unglued me so that I came home and had to eat one of those special gluten-free chocolate zucchini cakes with a gluten-free, corn syrup free marshmallow melted on top. I wised up for last night's Cubs game: I watched at a friend's house and brought with me a bag of baby carrots and some of my famous berry compote. But enough about me: I wanted to say: Congrats on not binging! What's really special about your post is that you're really talking about a perfectly normal vacation-weekend departure from plan, and getting back on routine when you came home. If we could all do that for the rest of our lives, we'd only need Fat Secret to stay in touch with our buddies, because we'd all be thin! Again, congratulations!
