So I've mainly been eating low carb but am increasingly interested in Keto/LCHF. The only draw back I can see is how much advance prep that WOE entails. For those that travel a lot, are there particular snacks (not jerky) or quick take-along meals that you like? Particularly for car or airplane trips? Yes, I also posted a form of this question in the forums but am not sure how much traction either will get. Thanks for any suggestions.

Macadamia nuts - very fatty and portable. Hard cheese will keep for 4-6 hours without refrigeration. How about salami?

these are my go-to's: hard boiled eggs, cheese sticks or slices, pork rinds, sliced deli meat & cheese rollups (pre-make and put into a zip lock baggie), nuts/seeds, low-carb veggies w/ blue cheese dressing, hummus or nut butter...so many but that's all i can think of off the top of my head! for the runny stuff like nut butter & blue cheese dressing, i have some small 2-oz leakproof containers that are small enough to bring thru airport security.

For something packaged I like the P3 Protein packs. It has meat/cheese/nuts measured out so I don't overeat. You have to check the carbs tho as some have more than others. I usually get the ones that have 2 or 3 net carbs.

These are all great ideas. Thanks everyone! @Rckc - I haven't heard of the P3 Protein packs but I'll look them up. They sound very handy.

They are over by the lunchables usually. Yes they are packaged and yes they probably have a preservatives and such but I don't eat them all the time and they are REALLY handy. I can be such a little cheat when it comes to measuring some things out, nuts in particular! It's also why I buy the little packages of nuts. I've been known to stand by my scale and sloooowly add one nut at a time to get as many as possible without it registering up to the next gram.....HEY, I'm a work in progress, lol!

@Rckc, i'll have to look for those P3 packs as well. too funny about the nuts! @firebelly, in the car i often take those tuna fish packed in sunflower oil pouches. but they're a bit stinky for on a plane so you probably don't want to do that! regarding the cheese, i've never had a problem with it going "bad" even after5-6 hours, they just get a little soft.
