Lucky James "O". I discovered earlier this week that the cold I have that won't quit is really COVID. I tested positive every day since, including today. It's starting to get tedious sitting in the house alone. Luckily, I was vaccinated and am only experiencing mild symptoms. The most annoying is that I can't smell or taste anything. Enough of that. My prescription plan has now denied my Ozempic. They have also denied Mounjaro and Trulicity. So basically, I'm following the same diet plan without the benefit of the drug. So far, there have been no speed bumps. I have not gained any weight and the scale has not moved in the lower direction. This can be due to the CHF (fluid weight) or the body is busy doing other things, whatever the case, I'm still following my plan, I am still optimistic and I will not quit. Everyone be well and consider wearing a mask. No matter what anyone else thinks.

Hi James--I have never posted a response to anyone on this site and it's been months since I've recorded weight or food, but I promise that I'm not a troll of any sort. I don't know how to send a private message or I would have tried that instead. I wasn't planning to reply, but my husband thought that I should take a chance. It's very possible that this may turn into a controversy, and may even result in my being blocked or banned--if so, I apologize in advance to you. Disclaimer: I am not medically trained in any way--I have simply done a lot of personal reading and research due to my own curiosity and interest. None of this can or should be considered professional medical advice. I don't really trust most standard doctors or nurses these days, but it would be irresponsible of me not to suggest that people should seek proper medical advice from professionals who are capable of critical thinking prior to engaging in anything that I post here (with the possible exception of the consumption of certain vegetables--unless there's an allergy concern). Deep breath--here goes: Ozempic is a GLP-1 type of drug--Mounjaro, Trulicity, and Wegovy are all in the same category. They are all derived from Gila Monster venom--it's a large desert lizard. Feel free to look it up online. People are literally permitting themselves to be injected regularly with toxic poison. And the FDA actually approved it, which is amazing, and not in a good way. All of these drugs can eventually cause gastroparesis (it can persist up to 2 years or more after halting use), which is paralysis of the stomach muscles. This results in preventing food from being digested, which means the nutrition content (vitamins, minerals, protein, fiber, etc.) cannot be utilized by the body. When the food cannot be digested properly, it sits in the stomach until the body eventually expels it. Basically, people are nauseated and can't eat--or they eat and then vomit, both of which will result in weight loss. If the stomach cannot digest, it cannot derive or create sugar from the food, which lowers blood sugar--but not in a healthy way. The other major issue with these drugs is that they all come with Black Box warnings. Use of these drugs can cause all types of thyroid cancer within 12 months. What I'm about to say next will go against everything we've been taught. To reduce and possibly clear up your other symptoms, please consider using nicotine gum, lozenges, or patches. Nicotine by itself is not addictive, despite what we're told--it can be found naturally in eggplant, white potatoes, cauliflower, tomatoes, and many other nightshade vegetables. Harvard conducted a study around 2015, and eventually submitted Freedom Of Information Act requests to the FDA (after being unable to induce nicotine addiction in their study subjects), who admitted that the tobacco industry has been permitted to add chemicals called "pyrazines" to make nicotine addictive (to increase their profits)--that it is not addictive by itself. What causes lung cancer? Well, for starters, cigarette paper is treated with arsenic--that can't be a healthy thing to keep inhaling into the lungs. Our bodies have multiple Alpha-7 Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptors. "Nicotinic". That means we're made to thrive off of nicotine. When these receptors are blocked with toxins, it results in reduced function or complete lack of function--for example, sense of taste and smell. If you don't want to use gum, lozenges, or patches, try increasing your consumption of eggplant--it has the most nicotine of any vegetable, although green tomatoes have significant amounts also. If you try gum, lozenges, or patches, stick to a low amount to begin with, like 2mg--it will help release toxins in your system which the body will seek to expel through diarrhea, sweating, vomiting, etc. If you have a lot of toxins, you'll experience more nausea, etc., so keep the doses low to start with. Regardless of whether you take any of my post seriously, I sincerely wish you great success in your efforts to seek and maintain a healthy body and lifestyle.

thank you for the input. i would consider any of the GLP-1 medications but none of them are currently covered by my health insurance. I am a heart patient having survived two heart attacks the second of which included cardiac arrest. I now have a pacemaker and defibrillator implanted in my chest. I would not consider nicotine in any form because I am a former smoker and because it could cause arrythmias. My MD is working on getting other medications approved for me. Until then, I'm staying on the food plan with the nutritionist. Thanks for the suggestions.

My insurance will not cover GLP-1 meds for my BMI. I’ve considered just paying for them but so expensive. It doesn’t seem to matter how little I eat, I’m not losing much weight. I suspect hormones are the culprit.
