Had a minor victory last night. I had a terrible time getting to sleep and staying asleep. Lots of thoughts kept creeping into my head (none of them positive). I found myself wide awake at 2:15 a.m. and started thinking about food. I thought about going to the kitchen and eating crackers with peanut butter. The urge was so strong, and I have given into this urge many times and end up eating LOADS of calories, just as a comfort and distraction from my thoughts. I battled with the urge for over an hour and managed to stay in bed and fell asleep. So this morning, instead of being upset with myself, I’m feeling good. Have a wonderful day everyone! Good for you! I also thought about cracker a couple nights ago when I woke up needing something to eat when taking an Ibuprofen. One or two crackers would helped, but I knew if I opened the sleeve they would disappear!

Sometimes I have that problem with waking up and not going back to sleep, I will listen to very familiar music very low, I almost can't hear the music but what I do is I think what song is coming next and before I know it I am falling asleep, and my mind is quiet.

Wow! major victory. I think most of us have struggled with this. There are long sleep stories I listen to on YouTube that help me go back to sleep. I've still never heard past the first few minutes of Yer a Wizard by Sleepycat.
