I don't know, but most comments I've seen about is say it isn't worth it. I use the app on my phone and the website on my tablet because each offers something the other does not; but no scanner.

Hello! I use the free version as an app on my phone (non-iphone). When you are in your food diary click the plus sign. The next screen appears and in the top (right for me) corner there's a little camera. Select the camera and hover it over the barcode but don't actually take a photo. If the barcode exists in the system it will pop up with the food. Hope that works!
