You’d think I would have lost this weekend eating very little due to my shingles meds making me nauseous?! Anyone else ever had Shingles? Tips for pain?

I've never had shingles *knocks on wood* but sounds similar to what I go thru with my burnt nerve endings just under my skin on my back (heating pad incident) and the dry, itchy skin above. I have tried otc pain meds, otc allergy pillls for the itch, Eucerin for my eczema but also seems to soothe that area. Have you tried perhaps calamine lotion? Aloe Vera? or an oatmeal bath? Just throwing idea's out there...

so sorry to hear about your shingles. my hubby had it and the dr prescribed a special pharmaceutical blend that the pharmacist made him and it worked great. we had to go to a compounding pharmacy to get it though. aside from that he used calamine to reduce itching and blisters. and otc painkillers.

Sorry about your shingles outbreak. I can relate. I get them when I'm too stressed. I do use valtrex to try to end the outbreak sooner, but for pain and nausea, I use a strong CBD formulation made from hemp. Wish I had found this sooner!

Thank you for your support and suggestions ladies! The medication is working finally :) I found “ gold bond” lotion is helping the itch and pain plus doc gave me T4s so I can sleep. Dang it, my emotional eating is alive and well. Gotta get back on track today. Trying to be self compassionate. Progress not perfection. 💜
