I feel justified in my nightly spoonful of peanut butter: Peanut butter is also a great source of protein, which is essential for building and repairing muscle tissues, Joanna Foley, RD, tells LIVESTRONG.com

Nuts, seeds, peanuts...always have some of these in my diet every day. They all have health benefits in moderation, and a tablespoon is certainly moderation 🙂

Love PB2 for my peanut butter fix

Has someone criticized your love of PB? At 130ish pounds and being 5’8”, I would think that the defensive stance is unnecessary. Like @writingwyo, I eat nuts and seeds every day for their protein and yumminess and maintain a BMI of 21%.

Enjoy! I only like peanut butter in Reese's and cookies.

@Sunnie - I don't know why I am drawn to it at 2 am though! LOL But I saw this article and I workout late in the day so maybe my body is telling me it is ok even at 2 am! LOL

@Liscarol - I do eat it almost every day and just decided that I need to incorporate it in my daily macros so I don't feel bad about that 2 am spoonful.

@buenita - And especially on celery with raisins! Yum!

@moonwspr-Oh you and I have the same tastes! When I have no dark chocolate I use the baking dark chocolate chips in the cupboard. Yum!

@writingwyo-You are so right! That is one thing I learned finally with my trainer that I get one serving of fat with every meal that doesn't mean two handfuls of nuts so I started measuring. Then he put me on macros so that keeps me in check too.

@RunRitz- PB2 is a lifesaver! I add PB2 to smoothies, puddings but I love extra crunchy peanut butter since childhood. Put that on a piece of toast with a banana on top! Yum that would be my breakfast every day until I learned I needed more protein in my diet.

@JB- Noone here on FS but when I was in the beginning of my journey with strength training and fat loss by trainer looks at my food journals and I was eating too much peanut butter. LOL I just wish I could stick to my macro's during the day and not get up at 2 am craving a spoonful of peanut butter. I am worse on days I work out so I just need to perpetually add 1 T. of PB to my FS diary forever! I do tell myself it is a healthy alternative to all the sugar I eat. I probably should find a healthier peanut butter?? I buy Skippy Extra Crunchy Peanut butter.

@SharonEsq- Oh a good peanut butter cookie is heaven!

We eat peanut butter on our morning bagel (half). When I was in weight loss mode I spread it thinly to conserve calories. Now, I put it on nice & thick 😁 I weigh it so I can be sure the calorie count is right. Enjoy your tablespoon!!

@SherryeB- Yum on a bagel! You are so right the measuring is key so you know what you are getting.

@Red: If you buy an organic brand, the ingredient list shrinks to just peanuts and salt. I don’t typically eat PB, but I do grind whole nuts (peanut and cashew) to use in homemade sauces.

Yes, my mom does that too.

@JB I will check out some organic!
