This is what the swelling in my legs looked like last night after eating scallops at lunch. Thoughts?

Scallops have a high sodium level. If you're salt sensitive, that could be why you have swelling. I would say fish allergy if the swelling was every where.

@Alicornlady I had a lot of salt the last few days. And sat in a car for 5 hours on Sunday.

Put on a pair of compression socks and that will help keep swelling w

Wisteria, whenever I take long car trips, my legs and ankles swell like that. Also, anytime I sit for long periods of time. Drink lots of water and keep your feet elevated as much as possible, should be back to normal in a day or two. Part of the problem for me is my age, I'm 79. If you're young and experiencing this, you might want to discuss it with your doctor.

@shirfleur 1 I have had poor circulation for years. It is concerning. I was afraid of a blood clot last night. They look more normal today and drinking more and lathering with lotion to hydrate my skin.

I’ve lost a lot of weight and still have trouble of swollen feet when it’s hot. My blood pressure goes up and I gain weight. So diuretic’s are the only thing that helps.

Glad they are looking better today but I would be careful to eat scallops again just in case you are allergic!

My ankles were swelling every day this summer. They would be back to normal the next morning. I bought some pressure socks (these leave the toes uncovered.) They help tremendously to keep the swelling down during the day, and are very comfortable.

@Texasgranny6 Good tip. I usually only swell in the summer too. Think it was a mix of causes.

My gal pal swells up when the seafood is prepared with MSG (as some places still use) so that may be worth looking into. Good luck!

That looks like an allergic reaction to me.

Most likely salt retention. I weigh 5 lbs heavy every time I eat out. Just drink a lot of water. I have used Morton's Lite salt at home. It's half the sodium of regular table salt, with the added benefit of being half potassium chloride, which you need to balance the sodium chloride to control blood pressure.

@Lous weight I thought about MSG because it was at a Japanese restaurant.

@conniekirk True, I don't use a lot of salt at home either.
