What is the app? I like the graphic. Also 40 pounds in each hand or total 40 pounds.

I dread any exercise that makes my knees crack. Oddly enough I am okay with the yoga positions that hold lunges (warrior etc.). Thanks for the reminder to fit in yoga tonight!💚

otb - thanks I was at 45# each hand before vacay/illness but the trainer is still holding me back a little. It was still a struggle on the 7th rep to get back up so he had me pegged at what I could do.

JustBananas - kudo's to yoga moves! My knees crack too and I started out the program 3 years ago with bad arthritis in my left knee but don't even know I have arthritis now so this has been a great exercise for me even though I struggle with them.

Cheesegobbler84 - I had to look up Bulgarian Split squats! I don't know about those either. Do you do them with dumbbells or weighted bar?

Redporchlady. Nice work on the weight. I just learned an additional technique to lunges. You need to make sure to really push hard off the front leg to push yourself back into the standing position.

Golfmarina- Good to know becasue that is where it get's dicey when I am getting to the last sets. That is a good thing to have in my mind and think thru as I move back upwards.

Cheesegobbler84 - I would like to try the reverse lunge or the walking lunge but I have a feeling that once I get heavier than the 45# dumbbells that the trainer will move me to the safety bar and then I will have to re-learn my balance. This all interests me on where it targets so glad you shared!

This illustration is interesting to me as it looks like the guys upper body is slightly leaning forward. My trainer has started this stance with me. Must not round your back though and keep your knees behind toes. It's a real balancing act and I love that my trainer is up on good form. I actually did those today.

Right with you I hate any form of weight lifting tbh

humpTdumpty- I love lifting weights but I struggle with lunges the most but know they are important. I would have never thought that my arthritis would be gone in that left knee because of them. What is your go to exercise?

Cycling-I enjoy using my Swiss ball re body weight exercises and balance type movements

humpTdumpty - I use a Swiss ball for crunches and curls. It is a lot harder than a person thinks!

I hate lunges. Haven't added them to my lower workout yet. I think my balance is too off. I have really long legs and seems like I have to step so far and land hard then control weights! too much. I'm 5'10" with a short waist so all bottom. I keep threatening to figure out a way to level up to these. Good on you and thanks for the inspiration.

Yes, they are so good for us, and sometimes they hurt my old knees.

I much prefer the walking lunge and not in place lately I've been using the barbell and instead of turning around and going back across the basement I'll do it backwards! it adds an entire new element trying to do walking backward lunges. tommorows leg day so they will be getting done. I've added a slew of new leg exercises into my routine and they have really helped with my overall leg strength

I think about adding lunges to my routine but I keep omitting them. I really should add them and have been recommended to add them by many people. Great job!
