Why have you recently switched to vegan, WWyo? Is this health related, or are you just shaking things up for variety's sake?

Several reasons, JustBananas. Mostly health. I've thought for a long time that a vegan + fish diet was probably healthiest, and that's what I'm trying. I still plan to eat fish here and there. My LDL was still in range, but barely, and I didn't like the direction it had been going. I've never really been a big meat eater, so it wasn't a hardship to give it up. I do a lot of reading on nutrition, and I found some YouTube channels that I liked on the topic that supported what I was thinking about doing. I also had some ethical and environmental concerns. Basically, a lot of stars all aligned at the same time

I ate pescatarian for about 1.5 years, but my Lipids went up slightly, so I dropped the fish and went back to vegetarian (this was in my early 30's). When I do veer off vegan, it's usually to eat salmon roe with cream cheese, or shrimp scampi. Have you noticed changes since switching with any other stats, like A1C or blood pressure?

My A1c was about the same, I think. I've never had blood glucose issues, so I don't pay a lot of attention to it. My blood pressure seems to have come down about 5 points. My mental state is better, so my psychiatrist was able to cut the dose on one of my meds. And I just plain feel good and genuinely like what I'm eating

💓📈All good health news, then. I take a multivitamin daily, but even then I'd prefer not to pop pills for anything, ever (inoculations/vaccinations are a different story). So I feel your relief in ditching the meds since you feel fine💚💛🧡.

Not ditching, but at least reducing. Progress. I would dearly love to get off of all of it, but that might not be realistic with bipolar. Regardless, my nephew and his wife came up for a hike yesterday, and she said had noticed I looked healthier. 😊
