Looking back over my health/weight history here on fatsecret, I see that I started off overweight (about 165-170 lbs) in May 2010. I lost weight through diet and exercise and it took about a year to loose to the weight I desired (125 lbs). I lost about 45 lbs in that span of time. Then, I kept it off. And I got pregnant in August 2013 and had my sweet daughter in May 2014. She is now almost 8 months old. After delivery, I weighed 175 lbs. I am now 146 and have lost about 30 lbs since May and it has been very hard. Much harder than the last time I did this! But I have learned so much about my body and how to actually eat healthy this time around. Before when I lost all the weight, I just cut down on the crappy foods I had been eating. Now, I am actually trying to make healthier choices with more protein in them to actually make me healthier.
For 2015, I am going to focus on making myself healthier and not just skinnier. Of course, I still need to shed a few pounds and I will continue weighing in to have some accountability for myself, but I am really and truly going to try to change my mindset and worry more about how I feel than how I look. I am finally somewhat acceptable to myself at this weight. I think what bothers me is that none of my (size 2-3) old clothes from pre-pregnancy fit me. I know this is dumb, but I think that's what it is that nags at me. So, I went out and bought a new pair of dress pants for work (size 9-10) and they fit very nicely and make me look and feel better. I have been doing the Jillian Michael's 30-day shred for about 9-10 days now and I am really feeling good about the changes I can feel in my body with each workout. I am starting a clean eating plan, which is simliar to what I usually eat so it's not too much of a stretch for me to do. I am excited about what this new year will bring!
My weight goal is to lose 5 lbs in January, 5 lbs in February, 5 in March and 5 in April and then I would be back to my pre-pregnancy weight and ready to enjoy summer and vacations. 5 lbs a month is very reasonable to me and I hope to keep exercising everyday (with some rests in there). I hope to be stronger, more fit, and healthier in 2015!
