I was having a rough go at things when I made my last entry but was determined to get up and get to the gym the next day and conquer the funk I was in.
little did I know.. life was about to slap me in the face. I woke up the very next day to one of the hardest things I've had to face in a while.
I was cooking dinner for my kids when I noticed flashing lights coming thru our front door windows. there was a firetruck blocking my driveway. they had come to take my neighbor to the hospital.. only this time he wouldn't come home. he wasn't just my neighbor, he was one of my oldest and best friends. he was family. we've lived side by side for 38 years. we have been the best of friends for so long he was an extension of my home. he was there for so much it's so hard for me to imagine my world without him.
I spent most of the weekend sobbing. after not sleeping but an hour thurs-fri.. when I finally laid down at 1am on Saturday I slept the entire day and night.
somehow.. by the grace of God I got up Sunday. I didn't get much done but I didn't give in to despair.
-today after the kids were at school, I got up and I went to the gym. it was hard and all I did was walk on the treadmill but I did 40 mins and it felt great that I didn't give up n I didn't give in.

So very sorry for the loss of your friend and that you didn't get the chance to say goodbye. Keep and cherish all those years of friendship and down the road the memories you made will give you comfort. Be blessed and take extra care of yourself while grieving.

So sorry. I lost a client last week that was a great friend. The pain is hard but we live on and push through just like they’d want us too!! I’m proud of you for getting to the gym. Don’t say just walking on the treadmill. That’s great exercise!! Any movement is better than no movement. ❤️🙏
