sugar_plum -- I'm in the same boat on protein, especially since I'm over 50. I don't think it's necessary to get as much protein as many believe, but I find that with the amount of calories I have to play with, and going plant based, I have to be mindful to get it up to .8 to 1.1 grams per kg

liv -- I was pretty psyched when I discovered how much protein cocoa powder has. SCORE! 😁👍 I'm also trying to work in a tablespoon of ground flax every day, but that pretty much limits me to oatmeal or smoothies for breakfast, and sometimes I want something different, so I don't always get it

I sometimes make a microwave flax muffin. It is very quick and I really like it. Yesterday i came across a claim that putting fiber in the blender destroys it... I tried to research it but just a bunch of nonsense on the net.

Yeah, I've seen that myth too. There's an element of truth that it becomes a little easier to digest than the fiber in whole foods, but it's not like the fiber vanishes into thin air. I do find drinking my food is a little less filling, and it's easy to rack up a lot of calories in a smoothie, so they're not an every morning thing, but sometimes they're a nice treat. I'd be really interested in the flax seed muffin recipe, if you could share or point me to it

You can just check on line for recipes and variations. The one that I use is melted butter and one egg, 1/4 cup flax and cinnamon.stir into a mug. microwave for about a minute

My health drink: big handful raw spinach, a scoop of Vega powder and a cup of frozen blueberries and water in blender. Drink immediately. You won’t need to eat for hours. No more BM problems😊
