On our way home now from date weekend. We had a good time and ended the trip with shopping at Trader Joes which I always love! The closest Trader Koes is 2+ hours from our home so it's always a treat.
The concert was rockin'! The opening band was the Greyhounds from Austin, Texas and they were actually quite good. Picked a spot we hadn't tried for dinner, Steehead Bar & Grille. I had a Salmon dish topped with shrimp and crab in a delicious sauce served with rice and fresh broccoli. Very good. Enjoyed a couple of tasty cocktails and we had lively conversation. Very nice and much needed.
This morning we ate at a local coffee shop type place that makes great home cooking. We both are bringing home half our meal. Mom will appreciate warming up my leftovers for herself I'm certain. She deserves it as she has kept the home fires burning while we've been out to play.
I actually feel very comfortable with my eating this weekend. Still I'm thinking I'll wait to weigh till the end of the week. It's not natural to me but it feels really good to eat well and make wise choices. No sugar really is positive for me. Seems my joints feel less painful, my hot flashes are not so frequent or intense, and my mood in General is brighter. Yet I still desire it. The hardest part about trader joes was passing on all the sweet goodies that call my name!!
Well that's it for now. Tomorrow is work at home day and tuesday is a holiday for me! We are taking Mom with us Tuesday evening to Southern Soul Assembly (JJ Grey, Marc Broussard, Anders Osborne, and Luther Dickinson together for this concert tour). Looking forward to more live music. I love music.
Take care. Join me in this ongoing journey of practicing kindness to ourselves. Lord knows I need the company!
