Eight hours of sleep with two wide-awake episodes.

Morning plank and ten minutes first thing in the morning on the Air Walk Trainer to burn off glycogen.

Today was an up day on the Alternate-Day Diet (eat all I want) because I've got food in the fridge.

Cardio: one hour on the Air Walk Trainer plus five minutes every hour on the Air Walk Trainer to counter the effects of sitting. Steps: 1,077.

Fifteen minutes organizing and cleaning the kitchen today. Total time to date: 4 hours, 15 minutes. I lost some momentum today. I hope to get back on track tomorrow.

Read an article on being careful with chia seeds because they can absorb water and block the esophagus. Decided I wouldn't sprinkle them on food, but use them in soups where they have a chance to absorb water beforehand. I'm also looking into using them as an egg substitute.

You can mix the chia seeds in your drink. I let them sit for 10 or 15 minutes then just swallow them without chewing. Add them to yogurt or oatmeal.

I'm going to mix ground chia with water and use it to bread shrimp.

This is the first time I have learned about ground chia.

Not sure about chia but flax seeds do the body no good unless they are ground as they go straight through whole. Chia and hemp are so expensive I haven't tried them. I try to keep food at about $30.00 a week average, unless I have kids here.

I like putting the chia in a smoothie -- and then setting it back in the fridge a while.. gives it a chance to expand.. then reblend the smoothie.

wholefoodnut, I paid $11.99 for two pounds at Amazon. Have no idea if that was a good price. At a tablespoon a serving, should last a while. We all have our idea of what's expensive. I wouldn't want your smart phone bill.

Chia and hemp seeds are around $17.00 a pound around here. I keep checking this weird store that gets all kinds of products cheap. They have a good size organic section.

This is great info! I'm going to both Whole Foods and Sam's Club tomorrow and I want to buy "healthy stuff". I've just been reading about chia seeds and wondering if they would be a good addition to my "healthy lifestyle". I cringe at the 137 calories per 2 tbl. It seems like other things, almonds for instance, might be a more satisfying addition to my diet.

Love whole foods, it's almost an 80 mile round trip to the other side of the metro. So do not get there. No idea what the seeds run there. Would also shop there often if it was closer.

Hipaagrammy, almonds are an antioxidant. Nut consumption associated with longer life expectancy, according to a study.
