Hanging in there. No sleep, son on a roll all night. He frightens me with some of the stuff he comes up with. Not SAFE to sleep when he's like this. And you wonder why I turn to the only comfort I've ever known - FOOD.

Sounds like a very tense situation! When my son was a teenager (misdiagnosed as bi-polar and on the wrong medications for depression), he threatened to kill me and my husband while we slept. For a couple of days, I was scared; but then I said, "You know what - if you want to kill us, go ahead." He never threatened again.

My son is schizophrenic and bipolar, actively hearing voices - he calls them "spirits." Some of them tell him I do bad things and that it is my fault he is having issues, etc. He also has extreme swings concerning some of my friends. I will qualify the friends by saying I make no difference between, black, white, fat, skinny, gay, bi or trans. I have friends of all types. He gets on a roll sometimes ranting about hurting them, which causes much more distress to me than if he hurt me again. I KNOW I will go to a better place, as I have already had several near-death experiences. Sometimes I think that remembering that peace is all I have to look forward to.
