I found out my gout is caused by kidney disease, partly caused by medication, so I've gone off the medication and the gout is gone, but I still get leg cramps and itching all over if I don't follow my low-sodium, lower protein diet. The good news is my body responds immediately if I don't follow my diet, so I'm more likely to stick with it. The bad news is that after 3 months of sitting in a wheelchair or bent over a knee scooter or crutches, I can't stand up straight any more. So exercise is still a problem. I'll start PT soon and hopefully find some aerobic exercises I can do.
