Ok, so even though i had good intentions for this weekend as any other day, it did not turn out that way.
I've come to realize, on the LCHF lifestyle, i no longer dread restaurants as there is plenty to enjoy without anyone wanting to debate your choice of food.
I now dread other peoples homes. as i would never visit you and expect you to cater to my needs. And as some people prefer to consume whatever they can find, and still complain about all their ailments, they still choose to attack the LCHF lifestyle.

Anyway, each to their own, so i choose not to discuss my lifestyle choices as we all have our believes. The LCHF lifestyle works for me and i feel great. All that matters.

I visited a friend on Saturday i haven't seen in a year, looking forward to go out to a restaurant for a nice piece of steak, just to get there and find that she bought a platter for us. No meat, just pastries, oh dear! She is in snack heaven and i am in hell. Luckily i snacked on salami sticks on the long drive there, so i could say i am not hungry, but i'm gonna be there the whole day. mmm, so i picked on a pastries like a little bird, but my tummy was not happy.

I get back onto my LCHF horse and drink loads of water. But Sunday evening i visited family members, as i enter, three pizzas await. Ok challenge no. 2.
Ok, so i do not want to upset anyone or look ungrateful, so once again i pick at it like a little bird.

So on both occasions i choose to inform. Some never heard of gluten or what it is. But they respect my choice and are now informed.

LCHF - week 3 and i love it. Food tastes so much better. My colon problem is sorted, no more bloating and pain and even though i haven't checked my weight for more then a week, i feel good.
Now that the keto flu is over i will inject some serious exercise as well.

but will def. have some salami sticks in the handbag just in case... :-)

Hi there. From what I see, this LCHF is just another name for the ketogenic diet: no / or very little carbs, dozen of fat and considerably high amount of prots. That's the right way to go! It's my 3rd week now on a keto. Feel awesome! Lost 6 kg, do cycling to work and back (1 h 30 min in total), visit gym 2 times a week. No headaches, no weakness, no CRAVING for food like it was previously on a low carb diet. The thing I adore the most about this diet is that I can enjoy very tasty extremely fat stuff :) Just to share a few: Mix 50g of peanut butter (Black Cat, 99% nuts) with half a spoon of chocolate whey protein. Tastes better than 95% of all kind of sweets I've ever tasted in SA! Another one. Take 50 ml of cream (Clover, long life) and whisk with mixer to get a mousse, add 1/2 of chocolate whey protein, and 1 tbsp of cocoa powder and mix again. Awesome taste! Likely, I don't visit friends or go out that often, so there's no such a big temptation. But even if I had to, I could always order a big fat piece of an eisbein with cheese and a regular beer :) I recommend to visit cavemanketo.com website. There're a few of tasty keto recipes. Thanks for the input Artem Podolin. Yes, Keto/banting/LCHF all the same. Well done on your weight-loss. I enjoy this way of eating and love the fat stuff and my sugar craving is something of the past, never thought that is possible. I also like to make my own treats, which also boost the fat intake - Coconut Fat boms (you'll see diff. recipes for this on the internet) I make it with - 1 cup Coconut flakes, 1/2 cup of coconut oil, 1/4 tsp of cinnamon, 1 tsp vanilla extract & 1/2 tsp xylotol, then let it set in mini muffin pans. Yum! I will def. check out that website. All the best!

Yes its awesome that no matter which restaurant you go to, you can modify your meal to make it low carb compliant. Your family outing with pizza sounds like a banters nightmare. Pleased you managed! Hopefully there will be a choice of a Greek Salad or similar next time, or take your own :)
