Next week is last week of weight loss, then maintenance from there. I'm lining out my meal prep and i am thinking of going a different approach, drop carbs and raising fats and protein just a little... just to see how my body responds to it. I've been trying to tweek this all morning to get around 3600cal 500g protein 100g carbs and 145g fats but having a hard time without the carbs continuing to climb up and up. any suggestions?

Hk3, I think you're right. The side effects are really just starting to outweigh any benefit of trying to lower the carbs just to try to drop a few extra lbs of water (if any at all really). But really boggles my mind how the f#&# active people manage a low carb diet ...

@lydium my maintenance macros usually fall around 350g protein , 450g carbs, and 90g f. Right now in my fat loss phase I'm at 370g p, 300g carbs and 55g fat. I just wanted to see how changing the macros effected my body. But like hk3 mentioned the health side effects are really going to outweigh any appearance benifit.

I think "under 100 g of carbs" is a meaningless value unless you indicate the amount of calories to go with it. I was doing low carb in August with 1200 cal limit and staying under 100 g of carbs is easy; no products with flour or rice - and you are good. I did loose a bunch of hair during that time, still trying to grow it out (sigh). Apparently people on keto often loose hair, likely due to vit B deficiency (flour is an easy source of vit B). Now, granted that you eat way more than 1200 cal, vitamin deficiency is probably not an issue for you - you'll get everything you need from other sources. My point still remains true, under 100 g of carbs could be very easy or hard depending on how much you eat overall.

I don't think at 1200 calories a day you'd have to worry about low carb or any other macro for that matter 🤣 and why in the world would you continue to do that if your hair started to fall out?

Oh no, I stopped doing low carb as soon as I figured out that that's what was causing hair loss. Yeah, you are right. At 1200 cal - carbs are probably not an issue, but I was using it as an example only. Overall, it was a bad idea on my part.

Yea, I'm going to scrap the low carb thought. I don't think it's much of a benifit really having to raise protein or fats so dang high.. For someone who only had to eat around 2000 cal then maybe. Makes you wonder how those 250lb bodybuilders eat a keto or carnivore diet and not die lol.

I had wanted to keep some carbs around my workout, but that actually got that macros pretty close. About 3700 cals but still under maintenance . Honestly I only had the veggies in there bcus it's been a good 7weeks since I had any lol. Good looking out
