My upper arms, lower legs, and my butt (especially the sides) are still a little sore from Sunday's triathlon so I haven't done anything strenuous. I decided to hit the pool after work today since the nasty thunderstorms didn't show. I got in a 45 minute easy swim. I managed 1050 yards with very minimal stops (to get water etc). It felt really good to stretch and work those muscles.

I accidentally inhaled during a lap and oddly I didn't panic or choke. I realized what I had done a second later and started exhaling again. It's odd but I think the fact I'm relaxed and enjoy swimming (its my favorite part the tri leg because I can mentally "relax") and find it therapeutic may have helped.

I feel really great since Sunday. I'm actually tempted to find another triathlon to add to my schedule in the next two months but I know this is probably not a good idea. Don't want to fill my plate up too soon. My next race is in 12 weeks so I think I'll just stick with the three I signed up thus far. All of them are pool swims and roughly the same distance I raced on Sunday. So they are all very doable. I might add a fourth one in for September but this depends if I can build up a stronger running base to 10 miles for half marathon training in August. I really want to attack a half marathon either this fall or in the winter for a spring race. We shall see which training plan wins out!
