Today started out really well... preemie calf got up and stretched like a pro 1st time I had seen her stretch really long and hard. She seemed so much stronger this am actually sucked down the bottle rather quick wanted more.cattle actually were all nice and minded.
Scale was nice still didn't let me see onderland but hey there is always another day.
Got Ebony groomed, thought I would go out and check the calf it had been about hours and I thought I would let her have a bit more if She wanted it. She had passed away.😭 The straw bedding and her looked like she just settled in and went to sleep. This kind of took the wind out of my sails for the day.
We had wild weather today sun, rain, and sleet. So didn't get much walking in.
I need to count my blessings.
I actually had a meal of regular food and no pain it has been several hours. I am hopeful.
I also have an appt. at my local quiltshop ( 2 hrs away). I actually don't need anything... I will be looking for some fun material to make a new table runner and placemats.
I am loved ... that is the greatest blessing of all.

Oh Rains, that’s tough! Sometimes it just wasn’t meant to be. What happened to the mother, did she reject her?

I'm so sorry about the preemie. The circle of life is a tough one sometimes. I hope the quilt shop lifted your spirits a bit.

It seems so unfair and unexpected when that happens. Reminds me of being a kid growing up on a farm in Central Alberta. My job was to check the calves and make sure they got up and moved around every couple of hours.

Do you have Ebony groomed or do you do it yourself?
I have done horse’s hooves, huge dogs nails over the years and 30 rabbits nails, NO MORE, it is nerve racking!
So my ity-bity dog goes the the groomer. 😊

Yes the quilt shop was a great time.
SHREW...,Yes I Groom Ebony... she is easy peady with it. Except for her feet. She is soo ticklish. She tries but she can't help squirming.
