And *THIS* is what happens when I let too many carbs in. I binged today. UGH!!! I haven't done this in a L-O-N-G time. I'm not sure what set me off. Tomorrow is my blood work appointment. Was it stress about that? Was it stress about keeping my sugars from dipping? I don't really know. All I know is I was feeling "off" today, hangry, edgy and a never ending bottomless pit of eating. And my macros show. No hiding. No lying to myself. I ate ALL this.

No denying what I ate
Stop now, don't spiral out of control
No anger towards myself
Let it go, move on

Hang In there! No judgement. We can reset at any time. Treat yourself with good, nutritious food, eat mindfully and thank yourself for caring so much to keep returning to the path you’ve set yourself. Cravings and bingeing have nothing to do with moral character. The effect of unhealthy carbs and insulin production is very powerful. Drink a cup of tea every time those cravings arise and love yourself up. You’ll feel better once your back in fat burning mode again.

This morning's sugar reading was 5.6! 😲 I haven't seen it that high in months. Usually my morning sugar is 4.6. Oh well, never give up, never surrender.

It’s ok!! We all mess up now and again. The difference is to get right back on the horse. You got this!

Well I figured out WHY. I just had a panic attack getting my blood work done. Being high risk, I *hate* leaving my bubble. I was so panicked, I was vibrating. Surprised the poor guy was able to find a vein with all my trembling. 🙄 Home safe now. Time for a hot bath and a gallon of chamomile tea. ☕☕☕☕☕

ARGH! Doctor's office called, bloods back already (WOW). Now I have to wait till next freaking month to hear from doctor (between Covid, March break and the "next available appointment" crap). All I know is it's about my cholesterol results... obviously my triglycerides are still up. BUGGER!!!!

Jo, is 9% carbs a lot for you? Genuine question.

Yes, LC. Typically I stay under 5%. I stick more to the number of net carbs (under 20g) rather than %, otherwise I tend to try and compensate extra fats to lower the %, which in turn raises the calories. That day, my numbers were ---- 3245 cals (twice what I should eat) - Fat: 288.17g - Prot : 100.73g (I aim for 70g) and Net Carbs: 36.88g. Thank God for fiber that day, as full count of carbs was 67.41g 😲😲😲

Thanks @ lchfjo. I see, so it was twice your usual percentage of energy from carbs, and twice the calories overall. I kind of dream of a 3000-3500 calorie surplus day but not trying that until my average calories are a bit higher.

If it is only a one-time thing, I'll be thrilled... so far, fingers crossed, it was. In the past, that would have sent me on a downward spiral for months before slapping myself out of it.

Beating yourself up to much will make it happen again. Be careful my friend and go easy on yourself. Get up tomorrow and keep going
